About Me

My name is Katie Myers and I am a senior Community Development major at Covenant College. I just finished a 12 week internship for my major in Senegal, West Africa. During this time, I lived with a Senegalese pastor and his family and studied the barriers to primary school-aged children’s formal education.

I hope to continue what my sister Stephanie has started on this blog (you can visit her and her husband’s new blog at http://wsvanderlugt.wordpress.com) and will post as I learn realities of poverty and existing holistic development work. This summer I have been challenged in how I think about, speak of, pray for, and give to those who live in economic poverty. My contributions to this blog are written in an attempt to remember these things and continue to grow, and I hope they will challenge you to pray harder for God’s kingdom being built around the world and for the coming New Earth.
